Al Haram Travels Exposed

Who are AL HARAM TRAVELS?

Al haram travels are a travel agent having an online presence and claiming to be a ‘full service tour company’ in Haj and Umrah packages. They have a very sleek website that offers a number of appealing packages as well as some good reviews from some ‘past’ travellers on YouTube about their packages. In reality Al Haram are not a Haj or Umrah Tour operator but are one of many trading names of Moresand Ltd, a travel agency who operates in UK and are based in London. All of the Haj sites appear to be independent Haj tour operators but are part of the same organisation and are only middle agents.

I was unfortunate enough to experience the appalling service provided by Al Haram travels (Morsesand Ltd) and have decided to share some of these experiences in the hope of warning anyone who may be duped into purchasing a Haj or Umrah package from them

We are a registered company and member of ATOL

A search on Al Haram Travels yields no results in the ATOL checker. That is because it is just another trading name of the parent company Morsesand Ltd. The following trading names are used by the same agency

AlHaram Travel is an experienced and reliable travel agent for pilgrimage

In our experience and the group that booked with Al Haram they were far from being experienced and reliable. Issues that we all experienced include:

Charging people significantly higher prices but claiming to offer the best deal. Using religiosity and piety to convince us that they were offering us the best deal

Lying and claiming to be taking a larger group then actuality to appear to be an established haj operator. Al Haram Travel stated that there would be 180 people travelling with us on an established route that had been running for 13 years with English and Urdu translators. They would also be managing every aspect of the trip. In actual fact, only 20 people came through Al Haram Travel and the tour was managed by another group who did not have a designated English translator at all times or an Urdu one at any time.

Inviting the group to a shambolic Haj seminar in London that was not run buy them but the actual Haj operator. In our case they had not passed our details over to the the operator and our group was left very worried and unsure as to whether our bookings had been secured. Our itinerary did not match the operators and they did not know anything about us. When we got in touch with Al Haram, they told us that we were in the right seminar but to ignore everything regarding the itinerary as Al Haram’s representative was busy in Saudia Arabia organising everything. This was completely untrue as the person who they claimed was in Saudia Arabia was in fact in Algeria on a personal matter as confirmed by him, when we met up with him later on during the Haj (This was the actual Haj operator representative who had sold the packages onto Al Haram)

Al Haram changed the itinerary and dates by over two weeks which was in breach of the original agreement. The original itinerary was far more appealing with a longer stay in Makkah, however the supplier of the haj package informed us that their package had never changed. Furthermore when we spoke with Al Haram regarding this they made it appear that it would be impossible to get our money back although they had clearly breached the contract so should have offered this to us.

Al Haram Travel and its sister trading names are not Haj and Umrah tour operators. They are a third rate travel agent operating with multiple names to deceive people into buying their packages. Once you’ve paid for the booking then it’s really down to the actual supplier on what service you get. Al Haram have no say or involvement on this respect
